SUCCESSION actor Brian Cox has said that his role in the hit series has made him swear "a lot".

The Dundee-born actor, 75, revealed that he can't stop swearing since playing the role of foul-mouthed tycoon Logan Roy, the Scottish Sun reports.

Before playing Roy, Cox said that he rarely used bad language but is so used to saying 'f***' that he often blurts it out.

Speaking with the Washington Post about his similarities with the character, Cox said: "I think with Logan and I that, of course, there are similarities.

"One thing that Logan's had, one effect he's had on me is one of language.

"I swear a lot more now than I ever have before in my life. I mean, I swear a lot.

"Logan is so free with his swearing, and I used to swear but not like Logan Roy.

"But now he's affected me in that way."

Loose Women panellist Jane Moore was forced to apologise after Cox swore during a live interview earlier this week, while Philip Schofield had to do the same when Cox swore during an appearance on This Morning last year.

Cox added: "There's also something liberating about swearing, you know, and I think he uses that as a tool, a liberating tool.

"So there's that aspect."

The Rob Roy star is also making some money from his on-screen persona,  by charging fans to tell them to "f*** off" as Logan Roy on the celebrity message service Cameo.

He joined the website last year and recently doubled his fee to £517 after receiving so many requests.
