A GLASGOW kebab restaurant has taken home the prize of Best Kebab House in Scotland at the British Kebab Awards.
Last night, the prestigious culinary awards held their tenth ceremony in London, and Shawarma King was announced as the winner of the evening's penultimate prize.
They beat nine other contenders from across the country, including fellow Glasgow restaurants Istanbul Turkish Kebab House and Grillzz Glasgow Takeaway.
Shawarma King, located in King Street, posted about the win on their social media page.
The award was presented by two judges, SNP MP Alison Thewliss and accountant Altan Kemal.
Alison spoke of her delight at Shawarma's win.
She said: “It is fantastic news that local favourite Shawarma King was awarded the best kebab house in Scotland.
“I was delighted to be able to present them with the award and expressed my thanks to them for their continued effort in bringing the finest kebabs in the country to my constituency.
“A huge thanks to everyone who voted for Shawarma King and my congratulations to all the other nominees across Scotland, particularly the Istanbul and Grillzz who are also in my Glasgow Central constituency.”
