A MAN has been rushed to hospital following an assault.
Cops raced to Main Street in Uddingston around 2pm today following reports that a man had been assaulted.
The 44-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The force provided no further information on the man's condition.
A photo from the scene shows an area of the street outside Friels taped off with one officer standing guard.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1602 of Thursday, March 3.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Main Street, Uddingston at around 2pm on Thursday, March 3, following reports that a 43-year-old man had been assaulted.
"He has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and enquiries are ongoing.
"Anyone who has any information, or dashcam footage, is urged to contact police via 101 quoting reference 1602 of Thursday, March 3."
