A woman was raced to the hospital for urgent medical attention last night after being struck down by a car in Toryglen.
The 52-year-old pedestrian was hit by the vehicle on Prospecthill Road at around 7:55 pm.
Reports say that a section of the road remained taped off for hours following the incident as the woman was treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A male driver, aged 39, was arrested in connection with the crash but has since been released pending further enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.55 pm on Sunday, March 6, officers were called to a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Prospecthill Road, Glasgow.
"The 52-year-old female pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
"A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and was released pending further enquiries.”
