UPDATE: Average speed cameras on M8 in Glasgow activated
NEW speed cameras have been put in place along a stretch of the M8 in Glasgow.
The average speed cameras have been erected along the motorway between Cardonald and Braehead junctions.
This is due to major bridge refurbishment works which were due to commence on Monday. However, these works were postponed. A new start date has still to be issued.
The average speed traffic cameras will be in operation throughout the duration of the works to ensure speed limit compliance and safe working conditions.
Three bridges will be refurbished as part of the works which will include bridge deck waterproofing, concrete repairs, parapet upgrades, drainage improvements and resurfacing works.
Traffic management will be in operation throughout the duration.
