AN apparent armed police response to Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station was in relation to an ongoing investigation, the force has confirmed.
Images surfaced on the Facebook page No1Seems2Care which appeared to show armed cops lined up at the side of a bus at the busy commuter hub last night.
A post on the page, run by Milton man Alex O’Kane, said: “Reports of armed response police attending an ongoing incident at Buchanan Bus Station.
“Police and armed response just blue lighted into Buchanan bus station.”
Police Scotland however would provide no further detail on the nature of why their specialist unit was deployed to the city centre location.
The force did say it was in relation to an ongoing probe.
A spokesperson said: “Officers were in attendance at Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow around 7.15pm on Thursday, March 11, in response to an ongoing police investigation.
"There was no risk to the wider public.”
