A POPULAR Glasgow bar has paid tribute to Ukraine with a new, huge mural.

The Clutha Bar is notorious for its beautifully decorated walls, with several portrays of famous fans of the establishment, from Billy Connolly to Frank Zappa.

Now, it has a new addition paying homage to the people of Ukraine, who are facing the Russian invasion.

A picture posted by the bar on its Facebook page shows a massive Ukrainian flag painted on the gable wall adjacent to the Briggait building, next to the portrait of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. 

The post reads: "Our gable wall needed a fresh coat of paint, so...

"We stand with the Children - Women and Men of Ukraine."

In recent weeks, Glasgow has come through to show its support for Ukraine.

Local donation drives have been inundated with supplies to be loaded on lorries and shipped to the Poland border in aid of Ukrainian refugees.

A fundraiser organised by Ukrianian baker Yuriy Kachak, who owns Deanston Bakery, in the Southside of the city, has reached more than £82,000. 

Last week, Glasgow’s iconic Duke of Wellington statue was given a new traffic cone decorated with the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
