A collection of the Glasgow music scene's most talented artists will come together this week to show their support for those affected by the Ukrainian crisis.
A special fundraising event will take place at the city centre's Bar Bloc on Tuesday, March 15 promising a night of non-stop entertainment and true Glaswegian spirit.
Folk singer Michael McGovern, 26, says he was inspired to organise the Late Revue after watching reports of Russia's invasion of Ukraine left him feeling helpless.
He said: “When everything started to happen in Ukraine a couple of weeks ago I was feeling really down about it all.
“I was spending a lot of time on my phone well into the night, like I’m sure a lot of others would have been, just trying to process everything that was happening.
“I started to try and think of any small way that I could try and help and realised that over the years that I’ve been a musician in Glasgow I’ve gotten to know quite a few other artists.
“I sent some messages out to people that I knew and admired and they all got back to me straight away to say that they wanted to get involved.”
The response to Michael's call to arms has already produced an amazing list of creatives all eager to do what they can to help.
Encouraged by the success that other fundraisers across the city have experienced he said: “I think Glasgow is a really special place.
“I read the story of Deanston Bakery’s fundraiser online and was so inspired by what they had achieved.
“When a tragedy like this occurs you really start to see the best in people.
“I don’t think I had been aware of that before but I’ve noticed it more and more in recent months.
“We only started to organise this a week or so ago but everyone has been really keen to be a part of it.
“Bloc is a fantastic venue who have been really supportive about the idea.
“Aside from that, it’s not often there’s something that will get this many musicians together doing something for free.
With the likes of Scarlett Randle, Jamie Strut and Michael himself taking a turn of the mic, Tuesday's event looks set to be one to remember.
Michael said: “The whole night is shaping up to be a bit of an extravaganza.
“Artists will have half-hour slots and we have so many to try and fit in.
“There will also be a print sale from some amazing artists like Katie McCrossan and Sedona May.
"A few musicians will be selling merchandise with all the proceeds going to the fundraiser.
“I am a little nervous because I’ve never organised something like this before.
“I did have a dream where I was on stage and forgot all my words the other night but I’m really excited too.
“It’s going to be an action-packed evening with loads of local talent.”
