Mary Lee was born in 1921, into a working-class family in Kinning Park.
Aged just 14, she moved to London to join Roy Fox's dance band.
After singing in several orchestras, she returned to Scotland during World War Two and appeared in comedy sketches for a summer show at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow with Tommy Morgan.
In 1941, she was performing at the Victory Theatre in Paisley when the air raid sirens went off.

Lee and her family stayed in the theatre, sheltering from what was the Clydebank Blitz.
In 1952, Lee married Jack Milroy, half of the famous Scottish double act Francie and Josie.
The couple had two children and performed together, having formed a comedy and musical double act.
In 1992 and 1993, they also sang a duet on Scottish Television's Hogmanay shows.
In 2012, she was featured on Len Goodman's Dancing Feet: The British Ballroom Story, a BBC Four documentary hosted by Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman about Britain's golden age of ballroom dancing.
Lee had celebrated her 100th birthday last August.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2.30pm on Monday, March 28 at Clydebank Crematorium, North Dalnottar.
