A CAR was set on fire in a North Lanarkshire car in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews rushed to the scene in Kirkshaws around 4.45am on Sunday, March 20, where a parked car was engulfed by flames.

The car was a white Audi A3 and it was parked in Rose Park Cottages.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was put out.

There were no injuries and officers are now appealing for information.

Detective Constable David Williamson said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and seen what happened or seen anything suspicious to get in touch.

“In particular anyone with dash-cam or door-bell footage that could assist with our investigation is asked to call us.”
