A GLASGOW chippy has raised more than £2400 for a local mental health campaign.

We previously reported the Golden Chip in Croftfoot held a charity night in aid of LD Let's Talk. 

Bosses sold all suppers and meals for £1.99 for one night only.

It has now been revealed that a total of £2445 was raised. 

On Facebook, staff wrote: "From all of us at the Golden Chip, we would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that came down to our charity night on Wednesday. ⁠

"We managed to raise a grand total of £2445 for LD Let's Talk. Keep an eye on our socials this coming week to see lots of content from the amazing evening." 

Meanwhile, Derek Reid, founder of LD Let's Talk thanked the Southside business. 

He wrote: "Thank you to the Golden Chip for the charity event, such a wonderful thing to do and an unbelievable amount of money raised.

"I want to thank the staff who must have been exhausted because from the minute they opened the shop it was busy, you're all amazing.

"The food was absolutely amazing and I’ve only had positive comments about the food and the staff.

"It’s such a huge amount of money and will help us put more chatty benches into schools across the city. Thank you so much."
