THE tyres of 50 vehicles in Glasgow are claimed to have been deflated by climate protestors.
A new group calling themselves "The Deflationists" targeted SUVs in Newlands and Shawlands last night.
They say a campaign in the city has been stepped up to make it "impossible to own a gas-guzzling SUV".
Drivers may have woke this morning to discover a spoof parking notice on the windshield of their 4x4, informing them that their "luxury lifestyle choice" has been "disarmed".
It comes after "The Tyre Extinguishers" have targeted more than 4,000 vehicles around the world.
After vehicles in Edinburgh had been targeted, Police Scotland's Superintendent Mark Rennie said: “We have received a number of reports of vehicle tyres being deliberately deflated in the Edinburgh area. This is a reckless and potentially dangerous act which could put drivers and road users at risk.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we would encourage members of the public to call us immediately if they see anyone acting suspiciously close to parked vehicles.
“I would also urge all drivers to check their vehicle before setting off and to contact the police on 101 should they suspect their vehicle has been tampered with.”
Police Scotland revealed a small number of reports have been made in Glasgow.

They had recently targeted around 200 vehicles in the capital.
In a tweet posted to their Twitter account, they wrote: "Where are our Glasgow people at? Want to get involved? Email us at tyreextinguishers@riseup.net."
Similar attacks took place in Glasgow when COP26 was being held in the city last November. Flyers were left on the targeted cars by anonymous protestors.
