A NEW plan for housing and a visitor attraction to redevelop the historic Govan Graving Docks has been revealed.
Housing on part of the site will be used to fund the work to create a visitor centre and community facilities.
The developers say they want to focus on preserving, repairing and reopening the docks, which are on the south bank of the River Clyde.

The site has been derelict for decades and only the old pumphouse remains on the bank of the river.
New City Vision want to create a new riverside community and urban green space to bring the land back to use.
The plans include the reopening of Dock No1 for historic ship repairs, in partnership with The Piers and Docks Trust. The restoration of the site’s sole remaining building - the Pumphouse - is also outlined in the ambitious plans.
The refurbished dock and pumphouse will also become a visitor attraction.
Hollywood movie-makers used the site as a location for filming the First World War movie 1917.

Harry O’Donnell, chairman of New City Vision, said: “The docks are part of the fabric of this city, and these proposals will see the site retain its historical and cultural significance, while also creating a vibrant, new community which will contribute to the local and city-wide economy.
“New housing along the southern side of the site will underpin the funding of the wider vision to create a new urban green space fit for the 21st century.
“Our vision has been the subject of widespread consultation over the past two years, and it reflects broad support to bring the historic site back into use."
The plans can be viewed at www.govangravingdocks.com and in person at two drop-in-session being held on June 16 and 17.
The June 16 event is being held between 11am and 7pm at The Pearce Institute, 840-860 Govan Rd, Govan.
The June 17 event is being held between 1.30pm and 4.30pm at the Riverside Hall, 29-31 Clydebrae St, Govan, Glasgow.
Members of the project team will be available to discuss the proposals with the local community and to answer any questions they may have.
