The National Pub and Bar awards has announced its winner for the 2022 accolade, with Glasgow’s Ubiquitous Chip taking home the award for South West Scotland.
Nearly 100 pubs and bars were recently named in The National Pub & Bar Awards for 2022, celebrating their successes.
In Glasgow, The Upstairs Bar at Ubiquitous Chip on Ashton Lane took the acclaim, winning overall best pub for the area.
It was then entered into the national draw to find out the best pub in the UK, winning the best for the South West of Scotland.
The event, which aims to showcase the UK’s finest pubs and bars on a national scale, will once again be crowning the best venues within 94 counties across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as the ultimate National Pub & Bar of the Year.
The Upstairs Bar at Ubiquitous Chip is self-described as the “cultural heart of Ashton Lane.” It has the cosy and homeliness of a local bar as well as the elegance of a late-night cocktail bar.
The restaurant recently celebrated its 50th birthday.

The Frogmill in Shipton Oliffe has been crowned the overall winner, having secured the top accolade at the annual National Pub & Bar Awards.
