THERE are kids in the crowd surely too young to remember Jimmy Eat World in their 90s hey day.
It makes no difference because the Arizona band is exactly what’s needed on a sunny festival Saturday and everyone, young and old, knows it.
The dancing in the crowd is out of this world as the rock group races through Bleed American and All The Way.
This is a good time festival band playing good time party songs with no messing around.
Jimmy Eat World will be 30 next year so they’ve had plenty of time to hone their skills and their set and it shows.
Lead singer James Christopher Adkins politely thanks the crowd for their welcome and the gratitude is flowing both ways.
There are, of course, two stand out tracks.
Hear You Me is a mass sing-a-long and, despite the sun being still firmly in the sky, folk pull out their phones and light up the torches for a sway-a-long.
Then, at last, the grand finale – The Middle.
It’s a cliché to say the crowd goes wild but it truly does and the excitement is just about unmatched across the weekend.
They’ve been around the block and now Jimmy Eat World is showing the kids how to do it.
