A FAMOUS fancy dress parade is calling for East End groups to get involved as two free family-friendly festivals return to the area after a two-year absence.
Alexandra Park Festival Day and Parade, which features live music, food and kids’ activities, will take place on Saturday, July 23, and The Bridge Family Festival Day, which includes art workshops, bungee jumps, music and more, is happening on Saturday, July 30 in Easterhouse.
Both run from 12 noon until 4pm, and admission is free.
Matt Addicott, artistic director at Platform, said: “The festivals haven’t taken place since 2019 due to Covid, so we and our local partners and supporters are delighted to run them once again and provide a great day out for families.

“These events are packed with feel good, fun activities with lots to see and do and we can’t wait to welcome everyone along.
"We are also looking for local East End groups to join us in our fancy dress parade which is part of the Alexandra Park Festival Day on July 23. We want people to come dressed as their favourite fictional character to celebrate Scotland’s Year of Stories.”
