A MAN stole more than £100 worth of booze from a supermarket in Glasgow.
Shabaz Ali entered Tesco Silverburn on June 15, 2022.
The 38-year-old walked out with £120 worth of alcohol without paying.
Staff called police, who traced Ali nearby. He was cautioned and charged.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court last week, Ali’s lawyer said: “He has issues with alcohol.
"Prior to this, he had been prescribed medication. He was under the influence of alcohol and had not started his medication yet.
“He has been abstaining from alcohol since the day of the offence - he’s in the very early stages.
“I hoped this could be dealt with by an alternative to custody as there are various options available.
“Now he is sober he’s looking for employment. He would be in a position to comply with a restriction of liberty order or community payback order.”

The court heard Ali is already subject to a community payback order, but no review had been set as the order was transferred to another jurisdiction.
Sheriff Shona Gilroy said: “I would be interested in seeing how that’s going. I will defer sentence for a progress report and for him to be of good behaviour.”
Ali, of Kennishead, will return to court in August.
