CELTIC and Rangers will both be playing at the same time in Glasgow tomorrow - for the first time in almost a quarter of a century.

The two teams will be kicking off at 3pm at Parkhead and Ibrox as they bring their pre-season campaigns to a close.

January 23, 1999 was the last date when both the Hoops and Gers played at home at the exact same time.

Rangers beat Stenhousemuir 2-0, while Celtic fans watched their team defeat Airdrie 3-1.

On Saturday, Rangers host Tottenham Hotspur while Norwich City travel to Celtic Park to take on Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The city's top cop has spoken out ahead of the "unusual scenario".

Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, Divisional Commander for Greater Glasgow Division, said: “We are aware of the upcoming football fixtures in Glasgow on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Glasgow Times:

"While this is an unusual scenario we have been working with a range of partners including both Celtic and Rangers Football Clubs to ensure an appropriate plan that delivers safe and secure events and minimises disruption to the wider public.

“Police Scotland has appropriate policing plans in place which focus on the safety of those attending the matches and those around the city at that time.

“However, I would like to remind everyone that Glasgow will be busy on Saturday, especially on the roads and rail network including the subway, and to bear that in mind when travelling."
