THE Hollywood star who played Batgirl has spoken out for the first time, following the news the film has been scrapped.
We previously reported that Warner Bros. decided not to release the DC production, which was filmed entirely in Glasgow.
Actress Leslie Grace previously revealed she would never forget her time in Scotland, and thanked everyone for welcoming her with "open arms".

Today, the star broke her silence following the disappointing news.
She wrote on Instagram: "Querida familia! On the heels of the recent news about our movie “Batgirl,” I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over seven months in Scotland.
"I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process!
"To every Batgirl fan - THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, 'my own damn hero!' #Batgirl for life! 🦇"

The American actress was regularly spotted on the set of the filming scenes late last year and early 2022.
Parts of Merchant City had been turned into "Gotham".
The film was set to be released later this year.
