The UK is once again set to be affected by rail strikes as services will be altered this week.
On Thursday and Saturday, only around a fifth of normal services will run, and half of the lines will be closed.
On both strike days, trains will only operate for a limited period during the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm.
Trains will also start later than normal on the mornings following strike days.

THREAD /1 The RMT union recently announced plans to strike on 18 and 20 August across Great Britain's railway network resulting from a pay dispute. While this dispute does not involve ScotRail staff, the planned RMT action will involve Network Rail staff in Scotland. pic.twitter.com/fDFx5hEX37

Unfortunately, Network Rail will be unable to open any other signal boxes to operate passenger services on any other routes on the strike days.
Scotrail has urged people only to travel if necessary and to expect disruption and ensure they plan ahead.
On the evening before (Wednesday, 17 August), the day in between (Friday, 19 August), and the morning after (Sunday, 21 August) the strike action there will be disruption caused by the closing and reopening of signal boxes at different times across the country.
