POLICE are treating the sudden death of a young man as 'unexplained' after his body was discovered in a flat.
Officers were called to Nelson Street in Greenock after the grim discovery was made.
They say the deceased was just 18, reports Greenock Telegraph.
A police presence was in place at the address for several hours on Tuesday as inquiries were carried out.
Detectives were seen going in to the building as a uniformed officer stood guard outside the door to the close.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Telegraph: “Officers were made aware of the sudden death of an 18-year-old man within a property on Nelson Street in Greenock around 10.40am on Tuesday August 16.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
