A schoolgirl battling dwarfism was “buzzing” after being surprised with Coldplay tickets.
Mya Crosbie was stunned after finding out she would be seeing her favourite band play at Hampden tomorrow (Wednesday).
The five-year-old, from Castlemilk, also struggles with short gut syndrome meaning she needs to be tube fed and her Ellis van creveld syndrome leaves her with sore bones and fatigue everyday.
The rare genetic disorder can cause short forearms, lower legs, a narrow chest, short ribs, and dental issues.
Despite her health problems little Mya “takes it in her stride” and loves music, singing, and dancing.
She was gutted to think she would miss the major Coldplay show as it sold out so quickly, but the John O’Byrne foundation stepped in to save the day.
It comes as charity champion John sourced two tickets to the event after seeing videos of Mya singing their songs.
Now mum Cheryl Crosbie is “over the moon” to see her child whisked off to the concert.
The 37-year-old said: “Mya loves Coldplay so she is so buzzing to have got the tickets it was great seeing her reaction.
“My wee lassie got a lot of illness. She's got dwarfism and short gut syndrome but she takes it all in her stride.
“Right now, we are waiting on a bone scan coming back after noticing she has gotten smaller in height and lost weight.
“You wouldn’t know she was ill by just looking at her, she is a very complex little girl.
“I was over the moon to find out John had got her the tickets, it was good to see her so excited.
“She is a happy wee girl and deserves to go to the show, she loves music. Her favourites are Coldplay and Gerry Cinnamon.”
Coldplay are bringing their worldwide tour to Glasgow this month where the iconic band will be playing not two nights of performances.
Playing tonight and tomorrow the band will be taking over Hampden Park for their only Scottish dates.
John O’Byrne said: “I’ve known Mya and her family for a number of years now as she spends a lot of time in hospital.
“When her mum told me how much she was obsessed with Coldplay I felt I needed to step in.
“Sourcing the tickets was difficult as the two dates sold out pretty quickly, but a good friend of mine Chris Macleod donated two tickets for the gig and I knew exactly who they were going to.
“I saw videos of Mya singing Coldplay songs so I thought this is just perfect.
“I’m just maybe hoping someone out there picks that video up and shows Chris Martin it.
“That wee girl's face if she got to meet them would be absolutely priceless.
“She is going to have the best night ever watching them as they are unreal live, she's in for a real treat.”
The John O'Byrne foundation works with Scotland’s sickest kids to give them unforgettable experiences and memories with their families.
The charity was launched in 2014 as John was inspired to help youngsters after volunteering in hospitals.
He is now dedicated to making their dreams come true with touching acts of kindess.
