LEWIS Capaldi surprised students as he made a return to his "old stomping ground".
The Glasgow-born singer and songwriter visited New College Lanarkshire, where he spent the afternoon with music students and shared some "words of wisdom".
Music lecturer, Scott Cowie, introduced the 25-year-old star, who previously completed his HND in Music at the college.
The lecturer said: "Everybody here today gets to be part of a really cool story that started off many years ago. A conversation I had with a fellow musician, I watched him play a half-hour set in front of seven people, including me.

"I don't know what it was, but something told me I absolutely need to talk to this person, and I need to tell them that they need to do this all the time and perhaps they might want to think about coming and joining the music course at New College Lanarkshire.
"They did exactly that and on Thursday, they got in touch and said Scott, I don't know if this would be of any interest but I would absolutely love to come back.
"So can everybody get on their feet and help me welcome back, the one and only, Lewis Capaldi."
The college's music department took to Instagram to share a clip of Lewis following the visit.
They wrote: "What a moment. A gigantic thank you to @lewiscapaldi and all of his team for giving us an incredible afternoon.
"Lewis completed his HNC/D Music several years ago and today made his return to the room where it all started.
"This was all Lewis’ idea and says everything about him that he wanted to make this happen."
Bosses at the college also shared a selection of photos on Facebook.
They wrote: "It was great to have Lewis Capaldi back at his old stomping ground.
"Lewis studied at NCL with our music lecturer, Scott Cowie, and was kind enough to share some words of wisdom with our students."
We reported yesterday that Lewis stunned passers-by when he began busking in the middle of Buchanan Street.
