A FORMER jewellery shop in Glasgow's Southside will be transformed into a "quality restaurant" after the go-ahead was given by the council.
Planning bosses approved proposals for the new eatery at 76 Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands.
The unit, previously occupied by Thomas Harkins Jeweller, has been empty for around four years.
Opening hours will be 10am-11pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am-midnight Friday and Saturday.
Applicant Haatt Plaza Ltd has not detailed which type of restaurant the business will be.
A supporting statement read: "Supporting this application will see a vacant property occupied, which will generate a rates return to the council, the start up of a new business which represents an investment in the area, and employment for local residents.
"We believe that the new venue will prove a positive addition to the range of services already available in the Shawlands area and contribute to the overall Shawlands experience."
