TWO MUMS attacked their pal by punching her and dragging her across the floor.

The trio had a fallout and arranged to meet up to resolve the issues at Alexandria Lang’s home in Cardonald on November 9, 2020.

Lang, 25, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week alongside co-accused Stephanie Ross, 31.

The prosecutor said: “The complainer attended alongside her mother at 3.39pm to Ms Lang’s home. Both Lang and Ross were there as well as a third female.

“The door was answered, and an argument ensued between the third female and the complainer.

“Thereafter, Lang and Ross assaulted the complainer by punching her to the face and body.”

She was then pushed against a wall and forced to the ground. When her mum tried to intervene, Lang pulled the victim’s hair and dragged her out of the common close.

The pair left and contacted the police.

Cops arrived and noticed the woman had scratches and red marks on her face. Statements were provided.

Shortly after 8.30pm, officers traced Lang at her home. She replied “it was self-defence” when cautioned and charged.

Ross, from Barrhead, was contacted to attend. She was also cautioned and charged and made no reply.

The court heard the victim phoned an ambulance at her home, but she required no medical attention.

She then attended her GP and was advised she had suffered concussion but needed no further checks.

Ross' lawyer explained that his client was “deeply ashamed” of her actions.

He added: “She is very remorseful. She has treated the court process with the most seriousness. I would ask you to consider an alternative to custody. She has one previous road traffic matter and nothing else.

“Her mother, who stays above her, requires daily and sometimes hourly assistance. This has been hanging over her for a while. It’s totally out of character and she is unlikely to appear in court in the future.”

Meanwhile, Lang’s lawyer said: “She was of the view it was self-defence until her lawyer sat down with her. She has a severely disabled son and another young son. There are alternatives to custody available, although she is not suitable for unpaid work due to health issues.

“She has never appeared before the court before. She is a very caring and proactive mother towards her children.”

Sheriff Valerie Mays ordered Ross to carry out 108 hours of unpaid work.

Lang was tagged and ordered to stay in her home between 9pm-7am for 108 days.
