A fish and chip shop in East Dunbartonshire has become a TikTok sensation by pushing the boundaries when it comes to its deep-fat fryer.
Hook and Catch in Bearsden has wracked up hundreds of thousands of views on the social media app by enjoying the Scottish will to deep-fry anything and asking viewers what they want to see fried next.
One dish that’s been drawing customers from all over is a menu staple of deep-fried Oreos.

We ventured to the Milngavie Road chippy to test out the viral treat and see what all the buzz is about.
The ‘Tuck Shakk Deep Fried Oreos’ are served in portions of five, eight, or 12 and start at £4.
They are covered in a classic batter and served with a rich chocolatey dip, reminiscent of American-style fairground food.
The dish is super sweet, and the dip pairing borders on too much, but what starts off as a confusing flavour combo quickly leaves you wanting more.
The marriage of a quintessential American cookie with a traditional Scottish batter is a novel take on fusion food but one that is sure to create a new craving for any sweet-toothed fans.

Declan Doran, the owner of Hook and Catch, told The Glasgow Times: “We’ve got quite a lot of people coming from Paisley, Irvine, and Parkhead to try them.
“People love them, they’re very moreish, and once they try one, they want to come back and get some more.”
Declan got the idea for deep-fried Oreos from his brother, who sent him a post he had seen about the treat on social media.
Other items the chippy team has battered and fried include a Colin the Caterpillar cake and a roll with chips.
Declan said: “We do other creations, and we try and come up with new things.
“We’ll deep fry anything really. We’re having fun trying to be more creative.”
