Zsofia Dobak, an owner of the Riddle Rooms, told the Glasgow Times that the inspiration for the event came when she noticed a lack of scary Halloween activities in the city.
She said: “Every year we try to do something around Halloween. People look for these events and there is not one haunted house that operates all year round in Glasgow or Edinburgh that is properly scary.
“We wanted to have the proper darkness, scary music, and people jumping out and scaring you.”
The first year they hosted the horror escape room it was popular, and Zsofia herself had a blast scaring the players as they tried to solve puzzles to free themselves from the rooms.

Zsofia said: “The first year we hosted the event we had a review saying it was better than the Universal Halloween horror nights, and it was scarier.
“We had some people who thought it was too much and they had to leave the game because they weren’t expecting it to be as scary as it was.
“The people who were there for the scares, they loved it. It was very entertaining, a lot of scares, a lot of laughs, and overall, a great response from everyone.”
She added: “I would rather be on the scaring side of things than the scared side, but I do love the whole vibe of Halloween and dressing up.
“I think people who like escape rooms like the mystery around Halloween.
“I have played a few of these scary escape rooms around the world and it’s a lot of fun, doing it with other people and seeing them get scared and jumping and laughing at each other.”
The horror event at Riddle Rooms will follow the story of a noise complaint in an abandoned house on Halloween night.
Teams will be the police officers called to investigate but will need to be wary that a killer may still be lurking in the shadows.
The game length is 45 minutes and is for folks aged 16 and up. Those under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult, and space is limited.
The event runs from October 30 to November 2.
