DO YOU remember…Night Moves?
The famous Glasgow Times feature was a favourite with city clubbers and a bit of a 90s and Noughties institution in the city.
Perhaps you featured in our pages? Each week, our intrepid reporters would descend upon a nightspot to capture everything that was great about the vibe, the people, the drinks, the theme and the fashion.
When it first started, it was the 90s and fashion was a mix of the sublime and the ridiculous – pleather trousers, animal prints, halter tops, crop tops, denim and t-shirt dresses were all in the mix.
Thanks to Mel C, leisurewear got a look in too – who remembers Kappa tracksuits?

The Night Moves team went to great lengths to bring you the best clubbing news in the city – even mounting whole-weekend ‘investigations’ to get the lowdown on a new venue on the scene.
Each week, the clubbers would be asked a pertinent question on a hot topic – what’s your favourite animal? Which New Year’s resolution will you break first? Who would you like to be marooned on a desert island with? (The last one was at Guru on Sauchiehall Street in 2007 and the answers read like a Noughties celebrity who’s who – Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears and, a bit leftfield, Borat.)
We covered everything from grand openings, like the gala celebration at The Arches in 2010, and all the big-name DJs doing residencies in the city (Roger Sanchez at the Sub Club was a favourite) to Monday nights championing local house acts at Kokomo.
In 2015, for example, the team were devastated by the closure of The Arches but excited about Finnieston’s sprawling SWG3 complex, which hosted Pressure and Colours events in the Arches’ absence.
