Poignant tributes to those who died at war were held across Glasgow as the city fell silent at 11am to mark Armistice Day.
Hundreds gathered at George Square on Friday morning to watch the ceremony with tributes led by Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren.
Spectators of all ages joined veterans as they witnessed a two-minute silence to remember the fallen.
The Lord Provost said: “I’d like to thank everyone who turned up in George Square today to mark Armistice Day.
“It was great to witness so many people, of all ages, so willing to pay their respects.
“It’s a sombre occasion and an event that Glaswegians hold dear.
“Remembering those who lost their lives in conflict and those affected by war.”
Meanwhile, a touching Armistice Day ceremony was held at Glasgow Central Station with veterans and invited guests joined by dozens of onlookers and commuters for the service.
Station manager Drew Burns led a welcome address at the ‘first proper service in three years’.
He said: “I am delighted that we are able to take this day to remember our brave men and women who gave their lives to give us our freedom.”
A hush fell over the bustling station as commuters joined the service in observing the two-minute silence.
