Westlife is coming to Glasgow as part of their massive UK and Ireland tour. The band will be playing not one but two nights at Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro.
Westlife, made up of band members Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne have been together since 1998, before splitting in 2012 and reuniting again in 2018.
Ahead of the gigs, here’s everything you need to know.
What time do gates open for Westlife at the Ovo Hydro?
According to Ticketmaster, doors open at 6:30pm. The event starts at 7:30pm and will finish at 10:30pm.
What is the age restriction for Westlife at Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro?
No one under the age of 14 will be able to attend and all over 16s much be accompanied by an adult over 21.
Who is supporting Westlife in Glasgow?
Westlife will be supported by Lyra, a neo soul/RNB act based in London.
What are the banned items for Westlife at the Ovo Hydro?
Bags larger than an A3 size of paper will not be permitted into the event.
In general, audio and video recording equipment and professional cameras are not permitted at OVO Hydro events.
Furthermore, no food, drink, bottles, or cans can be brought into the venue, other than for medical purposes. Proof of need for medical reasons may be required.
How to get to the Ovo Hydro for Westlife
Train: The OVO Hydro has its own railway station (Exhibition Centre) allowing easy access from all over Glasgow.
There are six trains an hour (around every 10 minutes) from Glasgow Central station, departing from Platform 17 (low level).
A covered walkway will connect you from the train station to the venue.
Bus: The X19 Stagecoach service operates near the Scottish Event Campus, stopping on Finnieston Street only a few minutes walk from the venues.
Parking: A multi-storey car park operated by Glasgow City Council is available for OVO Hydro visitors. Onsite pay machines are on the ground floor, or level 2 (walkway level) of the car park.
An OVO Hydro drop-off/pick-up zone is located at the west of SEC Centre. A map of this is available on the OVO Hydro website.
The drop-off/pick-up zone runs an accessible transfer service to the OVO Hydro, dropping off within 130m of The OVO Hydro south main entrance.
