A man has appeared in court after a bomb squad locked down a Cambuslang street earlier this week.
As previously reported by the Glasgow Times, 999 crews and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were called to Mansion Court on Tuesday night following the discovery of a “suspicious package”.
Police Scotland later confirmed that the EOD unit “made the item safe before removing it for examination”.
On Wednesday night, forensic officers were then spotted a few miles away in Glasgow’s Marfield Street in the city’s Carntyne in connection with the incident.
The force later confirmed a suspect had been arrested and charged.

John Carstairs, 42, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Carstairs, of the city, made no plea to the single charge of making or being in possession of an explosive substance under suspicious circumstances.
The case was committed for further examination with Carstairs remanded in custody meantime. The suspect is due to return to court within the next week.
