A teenager has appeared in court following a stabbing near a city soup kitchen.
As previously reported by the Glasgow Times, emergency services were alerted to a serious assault in Argyle Street at around 8.40pm on Saturday.
Reports on social media claimed that the incident occurred near a queue for a soup kitchen that operates in the city centre.
A 22-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where his condition was described as “serious but stable”.
Harrison Keaney, 18, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The teen, of Glasgow, has been charged with assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder. He has also been accused of having a blade in a public place.
Keaney made no plea when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
The case was committed for further examination with Keaney remanded in custody meantime. The suspect is due to return to court within the next week.
