SHOPPERS in Glasgow got into the Christmas spirit thanks to dozens of festive performances from talented dancers and musicians.
The city’s famous Style Mile Christmas Carnival took place this afternoon, bringing the streets around George Square and the Style Mile to life.
As thousands of people did their Christmas shopping, performers were carouselling across the city centre streets in impressive costumes.
Just some of those featuring in this year’s festive celebrations included the Beauty and The Beast dance troupe, Giant Elfies, Rudolf and Friends troupe, Holly and the Ivy troupe, and the Snowman pipe band.
They brought joy to those wandering at busy spots such as Buchanan Street, Royal Exchange Square, Princes Square, House of Fraser, and more.
Crowds stopped and gathered to watch performances from each of the groups, as Christmas songs played in the background.
People of all ages were clapping along and cheering as they enjoyed the short but wonderful shows, by both adults and children.
It was the eighth carnival hosted by Bridgemanarts, with this year’s theme being The Christmas Adventure.
Elsewhere, snowmen were spotted playing the trumpet, a fluffy polar bear was guided through the busy streets, and a reindeer was greeting passers-by.
The Style Mile Carnival is just one of the many events happening in the lead-up to Christmas this year.
Thousands of Glaswegians gathered to watch the city’s Christmas lights being switched on at George Square last weekend, meanwhile, Christmas markets have taken over St Enoch Square.
More Christmas markets and an ice rink will also be opening at George Square on December 1 to add to the ice rink already open to skaters at Elfingrove, in Glasgow’s West End.
