A MAN has been arrested after allegedly trying to break into cars in Rutherglen.
The 49-year-old was charged with theft and dishonesty following incidents on Saturday.
Cops received reports of him reportedly attempting to enter vehicles parked on Victoria Road in the early hours of the morning.
The man was caught with assistance from police dogs.
He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

A statement from Lanarkshire Police Division said: "After a number of reports of a man attempting to enter vehicles in the Victoria Road area of Rutherglen in the early hours of Saturday, December 3, 2022, we can confirm that a 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with theft and dishonesty.
"The man was apprehended with assistance from our dog unit.
"A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal and the man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, December 5, 2022."
