A MAN was removed from a hotel for his own safety after angry protesters gathered outside.
Dozens of people turned up at Motel Air on Inchinnan Road, in Paisley, this evening.
They were calling for cops to remove a man who is allegedly accused of sex offences.
A large crowd gathered outside the entrance of the hotel, where the man was temporarily staying.
At least seven police vehicles were sent to the scene, with several officers guarding the doors.
The protest was broadcast live on TikTok, with thousands of people watching.
People chanted for the man to be removed.
He was eventually escorted from the premises by cops and put into the back of a van, which was driven away.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Shortly before 7pm on Monday, December 5, 2022, police were called to a report of a crowd gathered in Inchinnan Road, Paisley.
“Officers are currently at the scene.”
