LINE of Duty star Martin Compston joined Scottish band The View on stage during a Glasgow gig. 

The actor also hosted a pre-show World Cup party for the band ahead of their concert in Glasgow on Sunday night. 

Lead singer Kyle Falconer took to Instagram to share a picture of him and Compston with the caption: “Thanks to my good pal @mrmartincompston who hosted a nice pre-show #WorldCup party for me and ma squad!

A video was then shared on social media showing Compston on stage with the band where he could be heard shouting: “It’s Christmas. Come on The View.”

It was captioned: “Singing our wedding song to my missus on FaceTime in front of that crowd. Love ye kid @kylefrancisfalc.”

Compston is next set to star in The Rig - a supernatural thriller series set to air in January 2023. 

Following the concert, Falconer thanked fans in a post which said: “Glasgow, I have no words.”

One fan described the concert as “unbelievable” while another added “great to see you back”. 

One user said it “meant so much” to see The View performing again while others continued to heap praise on the performance. 

It was described as “absolutely brilliant” and “amazing” by others.
