PEOPLE across the city are being encouraged to donate to the Glasgow Times' toy drive, as Christmas Day approaches.
Over the past few weeks, we have been calling on our readers to donate to local food banks across the city as part of our annual Bank on Us Christmas campaign.
As well as this, a fundraising page was set up to help raise cash to purchase gifts.
A variety of toys will be purchased this week and will be distributed to vital charities across the city, ahead of the big day.

All toys will then make their way to parents to put under the Christmas tree for vulnerable children, who may have otherwise woken up to nothing on December 25.
Last year, our toy campaign brought in around £15,000 and delivered around 100,000 gifts to less fortunate kids across the city.
This year, the appeal is more important than ever due to the current cost-of-living crisis.
So far, more than £500 has been raised.

In 2021, toys were distributed to Refuweegee, which helps refugees settling in Glasgow, the Ms Miss Mrs social enterprise, which provides support for women and their families experiencing trauma, and Hillington, Riverside and Parkview Primary.
Smiley Stars Nursery and Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas (GSOC) also benefitted from bags of toys, as well as West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare, Spirit Aid, The GK Experience, Baby Bank Scotland, Home Start Glasgow South, 3D Drumchapel, Salvation Army, and Glasgow’s No1 Baby and Family Support Service.

Stacey Mullen, the editor of the Glasgow Times, said: “With less than a week to Christmas, we are appealing for last-minute donations to our toy drive fund.
"We believe no child in this city should wake up without a gift this Christmas and although times are tough during this cost-of-living crisis, we are hugely appreciative of the generosity from readers so far."
The Bank on Us 2022 campaign is kindly sponsored by Arnold Clark, Storage Vault, and Step Change.
