A MAN has appeared in court accused of murder.
William McPhee made no plea at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
The 55-year-old was remanded in custody.
He will appear again within the next eight days.
It comes after cops were called to Aberfoyle Street, in Dennistoun, at around 3am yesterday morning, after they were made aware of a death.
A 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
We reported earlier that police were appealing for anyone with information to contact them as an investigation into the man's death continues.
Detective Inspector Chris Thomson, of Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time and they are being provided with support by specialist officers.
"There will likely be a police presence in the area as our investigation continues and I would like to ask anyone who can assist with our enquiries to please contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting incident number 0260 of December 20, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
