Piece of Cake on The Masked Singer identity revealed
The identity of the second celebrity from series four was revealed in the episode.
Scottish singer Lulu was revealed as the Piece of Cake although judges thought there was a different celebrity behind the mask, guessing incorrectly.
Piece of Cake performed Shivers by Ed Sheeran alongside dancers dressed as cherries on ITV’s The Masked Singer.
Dressed as a slice of cake with a cherry face, pink icing hair and cupcake feet, Mo Gilligan suggested it was Icelandic singer-songwriter Bjork while judge Davina McCall thought it was Irish DJ and broadcaster Annie Macmanus.
Jonathan Ross thought it was American-British actress Ruby Wax and Rita Ora guessed it was petite Australian singer Kylie Minogue.
After being unmasked, she began singing her 1964 hit Shout – which had been one of the big clues.
She said: “I’m slightly in shock. I’m in and now I’m off. It’s adorable, I love watching the show, my grandchildren love the show, they love it – I love it and that’s why I’m here.”
Her exit came after the judges – Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross – chose to save Rubbish and Jacket Potato, who were in the bottom three with Piece of Cake.
Who is Lulu as she's unmasked on The Masked Singer?
She was born Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie and is also known by her full name Lulu Kennedy-Cairns.
During her six-decade career, she has turned her hand to musical theatre, television and more.
She shot to fame aged just 15 when Shout, a cover of the Isley Brothers track, became a hit and the song would go on to become her signature tune.
Another clue referenced her James Bond theme song with the same name as 1974’s 007 film The Man With The Golden Gun, which she also began to sing to the audience.
In 2000, Lulu received an OBE for her services to music before being made a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 21 years later.
The Masked Singer continues every weekend on ITV1 and ITVX.
