AN iconic Glasgow restaurant has won a top award for its ‘outstanding' selections of mouth-watering fine wines.
The Ubiquitous Chip, which is on Ashton Lane in the West End of the city, beat thousands of applicants from across the country to be presented with a coveted Notable Wine List Award from the AA.
Introduced in 1998, the award recognises an outstanding contribution to promoting wine understanding and appreciation. Nominees are judged on the quality of their wine list and their ability to inspire customers to make wider and more adventurous choices in selecting what to sample.
Posting to their Facebook page, a spokesperson for 'the chip' said: “The restaurant is delighted to have been given the AA Notable Wine List Award 2022/23.
“We have been recognised for our outstanding wine list from over one thousand entries. Congratulations go to our wonderful and dedicated sommeliers.”
Last year marked half a century in Glasgow for the famous business, which has become known across the country for its locally-sourced produce, top menu and unique atmosphere.
