A MAN who was abusive to cops after they turned up to his house looking for someone has been fined.

Lucas Land, 32, was racist and told officers to “go s**g a dog” during the incident at Blackfaulds Road in Rutherglen on January 20, last year.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, the prosecutor said: “Police attended the address for a separate matter.

“The accused opened the door and acted in an aggressive and abusive manner demanding to know why they attended. He shouted, ‘get to f**k off my property, yous better get to f**k’.

“The accused then closed the door but continued to shout loudly behind the door. He was warned he would be placed under arrest if he did not desist.

“He shouted ‘you f*****g p**i b******s, get to f**k’.”

Land was arrested and cautioned, but replied “I'm telling you, go and s**g a dog”.

He again told cops to “f*****g s**g a dog”, before being taken to Cathcart police office where he was cautioned and charged, and replied “no comment”.

Sheriff Bernard Ablett said: “I appreciate the last sheriff deferred sentence for good behaviour, but I can’t tell what he had in mind.”

Land’s lawyer replied: “There is a background which is why it was deferred.

“He lives with his partner. His partner’s brother is someone who has interaction with the police, but they have nothing to do with him.

“However, every time there is an incident, police arrive at the house looking for him. Police had been there twice before.

“They had also phoned and were told that that the brother had nothing to do with them. The police had previously been in the house and were looking around.”

Sheriff Ablett told Land: “The words which you said were appalling and I understand that you’re fully aware of how poor your behaviour was.

“You were asked by the last sheriff on July 13 to be of good behaviour and I hear you have been of good behaviour since. That will allow me to impose a less severe sentence.

“You have a record. In all the circumstances, I’m going to impose a fine on you.”

Land, of Rutherglen, was fined £300.
