A BUSY motorway is to close later this week for essential roadworks.
The M77 southbound will shut from 10pm on January 20 until 6am the following day from junction two close to the Southside's Nitshill.

Drivers will be taken off the motorway with a diversion put through from Barrhead Road westbound, Peat Road southbound, Nitshill Road (A726) eastbound before re-joining the M77 southbound at junction three.
The works are taking place to carry out refurbishment to the overhead sign gantry.

Amey, who will be carrying out the signage overhaul, said: "This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the signage on the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
"The work will be carried out using two overnight carriageway closures and a signed diversion will be in operation.
"We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place."
