A GLASGOW teacher has been accused of dragging a child and throwing him to the floor before elbowing him in the ribs.

The educator was employed as a principal teacher at the now-closed Greenview School for youngsters with additional needs when the allegations took place.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland reported a string of allegations against a child, known as Pupil L.

It’s alleged the teacher drank from the pupil’s milk carton and, when the child attempted to collect another carton at the request of a teacher, he is said to have screamed “I’ve had enough of this,” before grabbing the youngster and grab him by his T-shirt and drag him back into class.

The boy was then thrown to the side.

It’s also reported he grabbed the boy both wrists, dragged him across the room, throw him to the floor, and hold him on the floor by the wrists.

The youngster’s wrists were reddened as a result of the alleged incident on April 30, 2019.

It’s accused that on multiple occasions, he roughly handled another child, known as pupil J, by grabbing, dragging and throwing him.

In October 2018, it’s alleged he elbowed the same pupil in the ribs in response to the boy wriggling around.

He’s accused of telling another pupil that they would “not amount to anything” and telling youngsters it was “no wonder you don’t go to mainstream” before threatening to send kids to mainstream school if they didn’t behave.

He is also accused of swearing in the presence of pupils and telling a child: “You don’t have a father, do you? I’ve got a father and we did this together.”

The hearing, which began in October last year, is due to conclude today.
