ANGE POSTECOGLOU is confident that nothing should derail his Celtic side from having a successful end to the season as they prepare for the final 14 matches of the league campaign.
The Scottish champions continued their impressive run of form last night in the Scottish Premiership as they comfortably defeated Livingston 3-0 at Celtic Park.
Postecoglou’s side look poised to lift the league trophy once again with a nine-point gap currently in place over nearest challengers Rangers, but the Aussie boss insists he is fully focussed on one game at a time.
He said: “There is no point trying to think about anything other than we are playing some great football, we are being very consistent and why wouldn’t we want to that for the rest of the year?
“There is no reason or anything that should derail us from that focus. We have 14 league games left and we have both cups.
“This is an exciting part of the year and we are in a good position in terms of we have a really strong squad and guys who are really healthy and hungry to be the best they can be. So why not finish the season really strongly.”
Greg Taylor, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi were all on the scoresheet for Celtic as they defeated Livi and Postecoglou was delighted with the display.
He added: “I thought we were good tonight. We knew it was going to be a challenge. Livingston are in good form and they are hard to break down. They are very disciplined.
“I thought we started the game really well. We knew we would have a lot of possession but it was really important what we did without it and I thought we were always probing and asking questions.
“With our aggressive running we nullified any of their threats and that is credit to the lads. We controlled it well and asked enough questions.”
