A DRIVER was snared with £22,000 of cannabis in his car.

Christopher Knowles, 34, was caught with the drugs in Townhead on June 30, 2021.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard police had reason to stop Knowles' car, which was stationary on the road.

Prosecutor Mark Allan said: "As officers spoke to Knowles there was a smell of cannabis coming from the car.

"Officers had reason to search that car and in the boot of the vehicle, there was a tub containing nine grams of cannabis.

"There was a vacuum-sealed bag with around one kilo of cannabis and another bag containing one kilo."

A further 200 grams of cannabis was also recovered.

Mr Allan told the hearing that the total value of the cannabis found was £22,000.

Knowles stated to officers at the scene: "It's mine, everything there is mine."

Knowles, of Aberdeen, was arrested before £670 of cash was found at his home.

He pleaded guilty today to being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Michael Hanlon.

Knowles had his bail continued meantime.
