A NURSERY and out of school care centre in Paisley has been praised as “a valuable community asset” in a recent inspection report.
Maxwellton Park Nursery, which is located in the Renfrewshire town’s West Primary School, was commended by the Education Scotland team for “children who are happy and engage in learning in their literacy-rich environment and inviting outdoor space.”
The report also noted the “strong partnerships between the nursery team, parents and outside agencies” which lead to “positive outcomes for children and their families.”

The nursery and out of school care centre’s “dedicated manager and practitioner team who strive to get it right for all children” were also praised.
Some areas for improvement were identified and discussed with the headteacher and a representative from Renfrewshire Council, including a need to “continue to develop leadership at all levels” and advice to the staff to ensure “planning, tracking and monitoring approaches are relevant, manageable and clearly demonstrate children’s progress over time.”
