A hotel near Glasgow has claimed a Love Island star is a frequent customer.

Angels Hotel in Uddingston, which also operates as a bar and restaurant, has announced Lydia Karakyriakou is a regular.

The 22-year-old retail customer assistant from Glasgow has entered the iconic ITV2 vila for the latest season of the reality TV show.

Now her local pub is cheering her on and invited her for a “delicious Angels breakfast” when she returns.

The hotel posted on Facebook: “Angels regular Lydia Kara has entered the Love Island villa.

“Have fun Lydia and be sure to join us for a delicious Angels breakfast when you’re back home… now available seven days a week!”

She has said that when looking for love, she is looking for someone to have a laugh with.

Lydia said: "I’m looking for someone to bounce off and someone who is able to support and care for me.

"Humour is a big thing too, so I’m looking for someone who’s not too serious and can have a laugh.

“You just have to be yourself, looks are only going to get you so far so being able to listen and have a laugh is a good technique.”

Lydia joined the cast of this year’s ITV2 series in South Africa for an eagerly anticipated switch-up as Casa Amor divides the group with heads guaranteed to turn.

We previously reported how it seems there’s one islander in particular who has already caught the retail customer assistant’s eye.

Glasgow Times:

She said: “[I would couple up with] Casey, I love his personality.

“After seeing the way he spoke with Lana about their situation, I thought he was really upfront.

“I respect that he didn’t beat around the bush and was honest about the way he felt.”

While she’s eager to get to know 26-year-old TV hunk Casey, Lydia is also looking forward to offering some sage advice and a shoulder to cry on for her fellow female contestants.

She said: “I’ll bring a lot of chat and a lot of flirtiness. I’m known as the ‘friend therapist’ back home, so I’ll definitely give a lot of advice to my fellow Islanders.”

If Lydia is lucky in love she could be in with a chance of scooping £50,000 worth of prize money when this year's series finale is aired in March.

With over 34,000 Instagram followers to her name already, we’re sure there will be plenty of people across the city cheering her on as she makes her on-screen debut.
