A Glasgow mum’s painful brain disorder turned her into a “zombie” and “took her life away”.
Tracie Di-Meo has been battling FND, a functional Neurological Disorder that leaves her exhausted and nauseous while also dealing with a stutter and mobility issues.
The 54-year-old, from Darnley, has now also lost out on her dream holiday to Lanzarote as her condition has deteriorated further leaving her unable to go.

It means the mum is out almost £5000 as she continues to battle the disorder which she hopes to raise awareness for.
Tracie had booked to go away with extended family and is now trying to sell the TUI holiday which includes seven Thompson flights in June.
She said: “My disorder has taken my life away, I am in constant pain, I do yoga and meditation but medication does not work.
“I ended up being a zombie on Pregabalin medication.
“I was going on holiday to a villa in Lanzarote for 10 days, but because of my condition getting worse I can’t look after myself or my autistic son while abroad.
“I have a lot of difficulties now due to my disability. I suffer from panic attacks, spasms, problems with sight and movement, falling, pain, extreme nausea, chronic fatigue, and migraines.”
Tracie had been working as a senior social worker when she first fell ill in 2017, this included chronic fatigue and falling.
She was then forced to give up her job as her condition continued to get worse.
The mum was then diagnosed with FND in 2019 by a Neurologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The condition describes a problem with how the brain receives and sends information to the rest of the body.
She said: “I explain my disorder as the brain sending messages to parts of the body, my brain mixes the messages up.
“I have just in the last year been able to get out of bed, I had to take control as I was slipping away.
“It’s been a nightmare, me and my son have been lost for a long time but hopefully we will be on the mend soon.”
