ROBBERS who tried to break into a home in Carluke went on to assault a man who challenged them.
Four men were seen trying to gain access to a property at Waterlands Gardens in Carluke at 8.45pm on Saturday, February 18.
A 60-year-old who questioned them was assaulted by the thugs, who also tried to take his mobile phone.

He was taken to hospital but not seriously injured.
All four men made off in the direction of Stonedyke Road in two cars, one described as a white four-by-four and the other a dark-coloured vehicle.
Cops are appealing for information following the incident.
Police Sergeant John Logan said: “Fortunately, the man who challenged the suspects was not seriously injured and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
“We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious before or after the incident or who has dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.
“If you have information then please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3243 of Saturday, February 18, 2023, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
