This week, to celebrate World Thinking Day, celebrated by the guiding movement, the post topper features a girl guide.

The hand-knitted display has a guide in the blue and red uniform and a knitted glowing campfire.

It has attached a sign explaining it is for World Thinking Day.

The sign states “Happy World Thinking Day” and the message reads: “To everyone whose life has been enriched by guiding”.

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts marks the day to promote guiding and share the organisation’s message.

World Thinking Day is February 22 ,started by the Girl Guides in 1926 as a fundraising day.

Now, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world come together to celebrate guiding and what it means to them.

GirlGuiding states: “The World Thinking Day remains one of the most important dates in the guiding calendar, and every year the theme of the event encourages members to think about the big issues affecting them and their global community.

“Previous World Thinking Days have tackled the subjects of poverty, gender inequality, environmental sustainability and access to education.”
